Drought tolerant plant gene discovered

An international group of plant scientists, led by Dr Gonzalo Estavillo and Professor Barry Pogson at The Australian National University have discovered a subtle mutation in Arabidopsis, a small, rapid growing plant, which may have important and far reaching implications for establishing drought resistance throughout the plant kingdom.

As a way of providing greater access into many undergraduate degrees in 2010, ANU offers UniTEST – a free test of aptitude for university study. If you expect an entrance rank of at least 65 and would like to improve your chances for admission, you can sit this free test on Tuesday 1 December at ANU. Register by Friday 13 November.
