    • Summary: Cognitive Edge is the new name (as of 2006) of the IBM initiated Cynefin Centre for Organisational Complexity. Cognitive Edge is a network that utilizes cognitive science, the science of complex adaptive systems, anthropology and philosophy in the creation and practice of methods for dealing with issues and problems confronting organisations.

ISF uses a variety of approaches/principles, such as triple bottom line assessment, backcasting, holism, visioning, systems thinking, transdisciplinarity and futures studies to reach its goals.
