Romantic Nationalism in Europe

The HRC adopted "Romanticism and Revivals : Culture & Nationalism in 19th Century Europe" as its annual theme for 1980. The concentration on the cultural side of nationalism was deliberate - not only because of the nature of the HRC, but also as a means of providing focus within a very diverse area.

The papers presented in this volume have been compiled from a series of four conferences held by the HRC between May - November 1980.
