Music in Australian Cultural History (1930 - 1960)

This book comprises papers given at a conference, "Music and Musicians in Australian Cultural History 1930 - 1960" held at the HRC on the 25 - 29th September 1993. The conference was held to trace aspects of "social involvement" in music in the period 1930 - 1960, built around the perception that music has yet to achieve the same level of integration with the themes of cultural history as other art forms.

The book also includes a CD recorded at the Canberra School of Music incorporating a sample of the performing proceedings of this conference.
