2009 Summer School on the theme of Religion and Bigotry

January 18-21
Old Canberra House ANU

The relationship of bigotry with religion will be examined in the context of current social issues looked at from different interdisciplinary perspectives. Inevitably this will lead to discussions on the relationship of religion with law and politics in current Australia. Equally the question of bigotry will occur not only as a phenomenon between religions but also within religions.
The Freilich summer school provides an environment where participants from a variety of educational backgrounds can discuss these important questions with leading scholars at the ANU and elsewhere. It is a rich learning experience which past participants have found an invaluable professional and personal experience.
