Ann Bates Prize for Indonesian Studies

Priority area: Leading in our region

This prize was established in 2001 in memory of Ann Coomb Bates. Two annual prizes are awarded, one for the best undergraduate work relating to Indonesia, and another for the highest quality PhD on a topic related to Indonesia. These prizes are awarded to honour Ann Bates' memory and her belief that education in general and university studies in particular can contribute to better understanding between people of different cultures. This Prize continues to build and we would welcome further donations to support Indonesian studies at ANU.
