Charlie was first created at the Darwin Detention Centre in the learning and skills section for youth detainees. He was later painted by a principal artist from Maningrida/Goulbourn Island with two other artists from a working group from the Belyuen Community.
Charlie provides a welcoming environment for Indigenous students and visitors, and demonstrates appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures histories and achievements.
Join us in supporting the purchase of Charlie by making a donation. All donations will be matched by RSES.
