Phillipa Weeks Scholarship Fund

Priority area: Leading in our region
The Phillipa Weeks Scholarship for Rural and Regional Students supports students from regional and remote areas to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at ANU.

The Scholarship pays tribute to Phillipa Weeks (BA (Hons) '74, LLB (Hons) '79, LLM '87) who attended school in country NSW before she was awarded a scholarship to study law at ANU, going on to become Associate Dean and Head of School before passing away in 2006.

Awarded on the basis of academic performance, leadership qualities and contribution to the community, the scholarship has supported over 10 students to move to ANU and study law from all over Australia including Dubbo, Tamworth, Bombala, Cairns and Gelorup.

For Riley Curtain, being awarded the Phillipa Weeks Scholarship in Law from The Australian National University (ANU) has afforded him a certain degree of freedom as he adjusts to life far away from his hometown in Tasmania.

Riley moved to Canberra from Hobart in early 2022 to commence his Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/Economics degree and is passionate about contemporary art, learning languages and heritage architecture.
