The Texan Economic Miracle and how it's driving US Growth

Presented by ANU College of Business & Economics

Texas is now the world’s 10th largest economy, exceeding that of Australia and the Russian Federation. Over the decade from 2005 to 2015 Texas created more than one quarter of all new jobs in the United States and is a national powerhouse of economic development.

Drawing upon his experience as an investment banker and economist, our guest speaker Alastair Walton will provide an in-depth analysis of the Texan economy and its legislative frame work. He will also identify the unique cultural and historical reference points that define Texans, discuss the economic objectives of the new Trump Administration and comment on the likely Texan perspectives on them.
