RSB Directors Seminar: Science Communication Now: What we know, what we don’t (and why that’s good!)

Presented by ANU College of Science

In this talk, Joan will give an overview of the research front in science communication and what possible implications they have for how to communicate science and technology. Several large-scale international research projects (Leverhulme, “Making Science Public”, AAAS “Science of Science Communication) have recently ended we’re left with a large body of data as well as theory pointing in many directions. We are also left with many possible paradigms of science communication. Joan will summarise some of the material and evidence we have to work with and why it will probably change our ideas about communicating science once again. Joan will also point to areas that have been under-researched and approaches that we need to develop to communicate science in the current climate.
