Barry Jones In Search of Lost Time – A Film Story

Garry Sturgess and Barry Jones will discuss Garry’s film about Barry and the use of film and oral history in political biography. Garry interviewed Barry for the National Library of Australia’s oral history and folklore programme and the oral history and film are elements of his PhD candidacy. The PhD centres on the well-known polymath, writer, lawyer, social activist, quiz champion and former Commonwealth science minister, the Hon. Barry Jones. In this filmed workshop, we will view segments of the film and listen to Garry and Barry discuss it.

Garry Sturgess is one of Australia’s leading oral historians and has a background in law, journalism and documentary making. A rough cut of Barry Jones In Search of Lost Time – A Film Story (Part 1) can be viewed at: Password: BOJ1932
