Australian Premier of “Fermín, Glorias de Tango”

The Argentine Embassy in Australia, the Spanish program at ANU, and Tango in the Spring welcome all members of the ANU and ACT communities to attend the Australian premier of “Fermín, glorias de tango”.

The film will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. The premier is free and open to all. The screening will be followed by live music at the Great Hall (University House) by the tango group Tángalo. Also free and open to all.

“Tango is his life. In his youth, he commanded respect in the milongas; recognized among men and women. As an adult he was a communist, indifferent husband and absent father. The fear from the political situation repressed his family and transformed his mind. In his old age, he is admitted to a psychiatric hospital. The arrival of Ezekiel Kaufman allows him to recover what was lost.”

This special event is made possible by the incredibly generous support of the Embassy of Argentina in Australia. The Embassy directly negotiated this film showing with the director, Mr Hernan Findling and Mr Oliver Kolker on behalf of TISP team. It is co-hosted by the Spanish Language Program at ANU.
