Based on her unrivalled access to their colleagues, and first-person accounts of what went on behind the scenes, Savva paints an unforgettable picture of a unique duo "who wielded power ruthlessly but not well".

In The Road to Ruin, Savva argues that "Tony Abbott took more offence at criticism of Credlin than of himself, and that he took her word above that of his colleagues".

"An instant classic, the weirder-than-weird story of a duo who couldn't govern to save themselves," Laurie Oakes.
