Objectives

The School of Music Foundation provides a focus for music lovers to nurture and encourage the teaching, performance and research of music. Donations to the School of Music Foundation can be used in a range of projects.

Activities

The Foundation aims to promote a range of projects designed to encourage the best from the students and staff of the School of Music, including:

  • scholarships and prizes to advance talented Australian and international students to study at the School of Music
  • long-term funding for key teaching posts in areas such as historical performance, practice and ethnomusicology
  • the Visiting Master Artist Program to attract national and international visiting artists to the School of Music
  • the Instrument Program to acquire new instruments for young musicians to assist them to reach their full potential
  • local performances and national tours of student ensembles
  • sponsorship of individual concerts or concert series within the School of Music's Concert Diary Program throughout the year
  • the purchase and installation of an organ for Llewellyn Hall
