Book donation to Art Library

A donation of more than 1,000 books by Chilean artist Juan Davila was celebrated at the opening of the refurbished Art Library...

Mr Davila was delighted that the University had accepted his personal library which had informed the development of his ideas and artwork over many years.  He said that it felt as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

The artist developed a strong connection with ANU after an exhibition of his works was held at the Drill Hall Gallery in 2002.  A number of his works are now held in the ANU Art Collection.

As part of the opening, Juan Davila's work Self Portrait? from the ANU Art Collection was put on permanent display in the library.
