Herbert and Valmae Freilich Foundation

Objectives

The Freilich Foundation exists for the study of, and research into, the causes, the histories and the effects of ethnic, cultural, religious and sexual bigotry and animosity, and the exploration of how such intolerance can be combatted - and co-existence promoted - by educational and social programs.

Activities

The Foundation supports the following range of activities:

  • A public lecture program including:
    • Annual lecture on Bigotry and Tolerance
    • Annual Alice Tay lecture on Law and Human Rights
    • Biennial Eminent Lecture Series
  • Conferences, seminars and workshops
  • Postgraduate scholarships and bursaries
  • A visiting fellows program
  • A summer school for Teachers working in Australian schools
