Ann Bates Prize for Indonesian Studies

This endowment was established in 2001 in memory of Ann Coomb Bates. The fund supports two annual prizes, one for the best undergraduate work relating to Indonesia, and another for the highest quality PhD on a topic related to Indonesia. These prizes are presented to honour Ann Bates' memory and her belief that education in general and university studies in particular can contribute to better understanding between people of different cultures. This fund continues to build and we would welcome further donations to support this field of study at ANU.
