As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, we are delighted to present the 2010 ANU community calendar. The staff and students of the University have once more exercised their skills as amateur photographers to capture the beautiful campus environment in which we are privileged to study and work.
The fourteen images of ANU that make up this calendar were selected from photos submitted as entries in our fourth annual Photographic Calendar Competition. As always, we received entries from across the ANU community, all capturing places, people and events that caught someone’s eye during 2009. Selecting the final fourteen was not an easy task, and indeed we congratulate all entrants for again making the judging process so difficult – enjoyable, but difficult!
Many entries were accompanied by comments about how much ANU people value and appreciate the quality of life on our campus, from the striking distinctiveness of some campus buildings to the enduring natural beauty of the ANU grounds and the tradition of rituals such as graduation. We are delighted that the celebration of our campus life in the form of this calendar is becoming an ANU tradition in itself!
With warm congratulations to our winners in this year’s calendar competition, and grateful thanks to all who entered, we look forward to everyone’s entries for the 2011 Calendar.
