Linkages

The CCR places a great emphasis on creating research linkages. The Centre's emphasis is on building teams of researchers within the Centre itself, across the ANU, within Australia and internationally. Rather than these teams being separate and isolated, the Centre is determined to coordinate the relationships between research teams for maximum benefit. The linkages take the form of research collaborations, conference and workshop organisation, skill transfers and graduate training.

Our local linkages aim to:

  • collaborate across campus in graduate teaching, conferences and seminar series
  • reach local organisations and communities in the ACT to establish a sustained local and regional interest in the work of the Centre
  • provide the venue and support for international conferences and workshops in related fields.

Our national linkages aim to:

  • develop sustained ties with other universities throughout Australia through our appointment of short-term fellowships
  • foster collaborations with national cultural institutions
  • support Indigenous researchers.

Our international linkages aim to:

  • develop international connections through conference organisation and participation
  • provide an ongoing avenue for CCR staff to be keynote speakers at international conferences
  • host graduate students from overseas universities
  • develop an international series of publications
  • organise a program of international visitors to the Centre and where possible integrate them into Australia-wide programs
  • assist Indigenous researchers with international collaborative projects
  • develop links between Indigenous communities and museums and cultural institutions which house ethnographic collections
  • exchange knowledge and materials between international museums and local communities
