Papers will address the following topics:

• The visual representation of children in art, cinema, still photography, television, journalism and advertising, historically and in the present
• Uses of film, video, and still photography in child-focused social research, historically and in the present
• Studies of the uses of visual media in advocacy on behalf of children
• Children’s own creative use of visual media, and research based on this work
