Papers will address the following
topics:
• The visual representation of children in art, cinema,
still photography, television, journalism and advertising, historically
and in the present
• Uses of film, video, and still photography in child-focused
social research, historically and in the present
• Studies of the uses of visual media in advocacy on behalf
of children
• Children’s own creative use of visual media, and
research based on this work
