CONSTANZE ZIKOS was born in Greece in 1962 and grew up in Melbourne after migrating to Australia at an early age. Experiencing the life of two cultures, Zikos tries to make sense of his Greek heritage in the context of contemporary Australia. Zikos works across a range of media - including paintings, textiles, sculpture and works on paper. His work is a medium for questioning the structure of personal and collective identity in society and for exploring the traditions of his Greek heritage in Australian suburbia.

Constanze Zikos completed his formal art training in Melbourne, graduating from Victoria College (Prahran) with a Bachelor of Arts in 1984 and completing a Post-graduate Diploma of Art and a Master of Arts (Fine Art) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). He has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally. He currently lives and works in Melbourne, Victoria. He is represented by Tolarno Galleries Melbourne.

Constanze's work in <abstractions> was curated by Nikos Papastergiadis.
