Professor Keith Houghton, Convener of the ANU College of Business and Economics, is respected internationally for helping to maintain the integrity of auditing and, especially, auditor independence. He has provided key advice to Australian business and public sector organisations as well as expert evidence in major audit litigation. Having recently completed a period at the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, he now joins the Council of the American Accounting Association.
