Government GrantsCometCOMET is a merit based program that supports early-stage growth and spin off companies to successfully commercialise their innovations. The Australian Government introduced the COMET program in November 1999 to aid the commercialisation of innovative products, processes and services. COMET provides tailored packages in the form of grants and advice. Applicants funded under Tailored Assistance for Commercialisation may have up to 80 per cent of the agreed costs funded. Funding only available to individuals or companies. Climate ReadyClimate Ready is a competitive grants program providing grants from $50,000 up to $5m on a matching funding basis to support research and development, proof-of-concept and early-stage commercialisation activities to develop solutions to climate change challenges. Projects must address the cause or effects of climate change. A broad range of project applications are expected. The small grants support small business, as well as companies controlled by universities and public sector research organisations, through a simpler application form and reduced reporting requirements. Companies can apply for funding for any or all aspects of the development of an innovative product, process or service including research and development, proof-of-concept, and early-stage commercialisation. More information about Climate Ready Innovation Connect (ICon)InnovationConnect is an ACT Government program designed to provide creative innovators and entrepreneurs with limited funding support that will accelerate the progress of viable, creative ideas along the development and commercialisation pathway. The program's objective is to meet an identified market gap — funding interventions and services to accelerate the formation of investment-ready companies and entities. It is designed to assist companies that need relatively early stage support in taking an innovative product or service to investment readiness or commercialisation. ICon has two main funding components that cover these stages:
