Tuesday is the focus for club activities with organised warm-up and footwork sessions at the beginning.
Warm-ups and footwork commence at 7.00pm. After this, Club members usually fence amongst themselves and offer assistance or advice to each other.
The training area is available to the Club from 6.30pm on Tuesday nights for use by members for private training, individual lessons or equipment maintenance.
All training sessions are held in the ANU Sports Union building.

The ANU Fencing Club (ANUFC) operates under annual grants from the ANU Sports Union, which also provides the venue for training sessions.
Thus all Club members must also be members of the Sports Union. Visitors to the Club, who wish to fence and who are not members of the Sports Union, must pay a $6 fee at the front desk for each visit
- these visitors must also supply their own equipment.
For insurance reasons, all Club members must be either registered or affiliated with the ACT Fencing Association (ACTFA).
Registration entitles fencers to compete in local competitions, while to fence competitively interstate you will have to be affiliated.

The beginners programme caters for people who have never fenced before. All equipment is provided, and classes are conducted in a fun and friendly environment.
It teaches basic tactics and techniques, and familiarises new fencers with the the technical aspects of the sport. Two beginners classes are offered so that training continues for the entire semester and skills can be honed.
The intermediate programme is aimed at people who have completed the beginners class and wish to progress further, and people who have fenced before and want to brush up on their technique.
This class teaches advanced tactics and techniques of combat.
After enrolling in the beginners course, participants are entitled to membership of the Club for the remainder of the semester after taking up a 3-month Introductory Membership of the ACT Fencing Association.
This allows you to join in all the regular club activities and to use ANUFC equipment. Another beginners course will be offered in semester 2.
At the conclusion of the beginners course, a Novice Foil Competition will be held in which new fencers are encouraged to take part.
This will allow you to test your newly acquired skills in free bouting against classmates as well as novices from other clubs in the ACT. Certificates are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
Second semester classes start Tuesday, 24 July 2007.
