Seminar: Changes in rainfall & water availability stimulated by climate models

May 5th
2009

by Alan Wade. Fenner School

How might water availability change as the planet warms?
What do climate models say for rainfall globally?
What about Australia?
Which models should we trust?
Are all climate models equal or are some more equal than others?

The Lecture
Many of these questions are addressed by the new Global Water Atlas - a join Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) and Research School of Biological Sciences (RSBS) initiative. In this talk, the rainfall predictions that are summarised in the ATLAS will be described and discussed.
