Risks to health in Australia

The National Adaptation Network for Human Health is hosted by the Australian National University. Professor Tony Capon, based at the ANU National Centre for Epidemiology and Populations Health is the convenor of the network.  Other ANU academics involved in the Network are Prof Tony McMichael, Dr Helen Berry and Dr Haylee Weaver.

The National Adaptation Research Network for Human Health will bring together researchers and stakeholders with an interest in changes to the range and persistence of vector and food borne diseases due to climate change, the physical and mental health impacts of heat waves, drought, and other extreme weather events, and the social, economic and management implications of these impacts for the Australian health care system and health services.  The Adaptation Research Network for Human Health will contribute towards the implementation of a National Adaptation Research Plan.
