The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) has just announced the winners of the First International Sustainable Campus Excellence Awards. The ANUgreen Campus Environment and Sustainability Program has been selected as the winner of the Impact category. The ISCN Impact Award rewards excellence in engaging the various stakeholders at a university in campus sustainability.

The ISCN selection committee stated, “Out of many applications received, it was the opinion of the jury that this project was an outstanding example of how the principles of sustainability and the objectives of the International Sustainable Campus Network can be realized.”

Bart Meehan, Associate Director ANU Facilities and Services, said, “This award recognizes not only the hard work of the ANUgreen team, but also the commitment of the campus community – from executive management to staff and students.”

The ANUgreen program was officially awarded  the Impact Award from the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) at a ceremony in Lausanne, Switzerland from 10-12 June 2009.

The ISCN and its members commit to continuous improvement through learning and innovation on all aspects of sustainability on campus. Other members of the group include ETH Zurich, UC Berkley, and Yale University.
