Denmark is planning for a busy year as host to a number of high profile climate change related events leading up to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC CoP 15) which will be held in Copenhagen during December 2009.
Mr Nicolaj Petersen, Chief Adviser of the Climate Representative COP 15, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, met with the ANU Climate Change Institute (CCI) Secretariat in early January to discuss the Australian National University’s involvement in the various climate change meetings and events scheduled in Denmark this year.
Prof Will Steffen, Executive Director of the ANU Climate Change Institute is a co-organiser of the International Scientific Congress on Climate Change which will be hosted by Copenhagen University from 10-12 March 2009. Researchers from three ANU Colleges (College of Asia and the Pacific, College of Physical Sciences and College of Medicine, Biology and Environment) will participate in the event providing oral and poster presentations.
