Professional background.

Steve is Director of the Fenner School of Environment and Society, The Australian National University, and is associated with the national adaptation research networks in settlements and infrastructure, disasters, and social science. He is Associate Editor of Environmental Science and Policy and the Australasian Journal of Environmental Management, and a member of the editorial board of Global Environmental Change.

Research and teaching interests.

Policy and institutional aspects of sustainable development, natural resource management, disaster policy, integrative research design.
