The University Preschool and Child Care Centre is a community-based not-for-profit child care centre which is fully accredited to national standards in child care service provision. Close links are maintained with the The Australian National University (ANU).
We offer small age groups and an above average staff/child ratio. Our comprehensive program is planned and implemented by experienced and qualified early childhood personnel. The Centre employs a preschool teacher for the 3-5 year old groups.
The Centre is open between 7:45am and 5:45pm Monday to Friday and operates all year except between Christmas and New Year.
The Centre has three main programs:

Children, parents and staff attending the Centre are our community. Parents are invited to attend two occasions each year to talk with staff about their child's developmental needs and the program offered in each section. All parents, including visitors from other countries and families from non-English speaking backgrounds, will find we are able to support and assist with integration into a new environment with care and understanding. A variety of celebrations, excursions and special visitors are organised by the staff, committee and interested parents throughout the year. Close ties are formed with families as we share the care of children and provide parent support.
The Centre and the ANU
The University Preschool and Childcare Centre was founded in 1969 by ANU staff and, while independent and not for profit, the Centre enjoys a close relationship with the ANU. The UPCCC is located on campus in Lennox House, a building provided by the ANU. The ANU provides contributions to the running costs of the Centre, as well as staff amenity funds to provide equipment. Families with connections to the ANU are given priority on the Centre waiting list.
