Any information received by the centre will be treated in the strictest confidence and not divulged to any person without consent of the person concerned. Information is collected only for the functions and activities of HERITAGE Early Childhood Centre. Individuals will be made aware of the reasons for the collection of information. Reasonable steps will be made to ensure the information collected is complete, accurate and up to date. The Centre will issue enrolment update forms in January each year for parents to complete.
Personal information in relation to families or staff members will remain confidential at all times. Information will only be used or disclosed for the primary purpose of collection.
Personal appointments should be requested when wishing to discuss private matters, either with the Room Leader or the Director. Staff will discuss confidential information with parents about their child/ren only in appropriate circumstances, ie: in privacy.
All records kept at HERITAGE are confidential and all legal procedures and requirements are adhered to at all times. All out of date information will be archived and stored in a locked store for a minimum of 21 years. Any individual can ask to be given access to his or her own personal information held by HERITAGE Early Childhood. Information including telephone numbers and addresses of staff or families are kept in confidence and will not be given to any other person by a second party.
Consent will be gained from staff or families to use any information collected, if a representative of HERITAGE Early Childhood Centre requires the assistance of a relevant outside body to perform a particular task. For example, seeking assistance for special needs children from RESOURCELink.
To protect the privacy of other families and/or staff at HERITAGE, we encourage families also to respect confidentiality, or use sensitivity when discussing events and/or occurrences that they witness at HERITAGE.
Any written information found by parents remains confidential and must be returned to the Director.
