Want to learn how to create animation like Pixar and Dreamworks? This course teaches you the fundamentals of 3D animation using Maya; one of the most highly used packages in the industry. Students will choose a basic idea for an animation they would like to create and the course will take them through the steps required to create this animation.

Creating Your Own Short Film Project - Part 1 is now cancelled

This course focuses on learning the basics of scriptwriting, filming and editing in order to produce a short film. This course will guide students from the preproduction stage all the way to the postproduction stage. Students will be introduced to the techniques and secrets of scriptwriting and evolving their concepts. They will then be introduced to all the essentials of filming such as framing, camera settings and lighting, as well as all the software and hardware skills required to do the postproduction.
Creating Your Own Short Film Project - Part 2 is now cancelled

This course is a follow up course of Part 1. It is designed to use the knowledge taught in Part 1 to create many more films to provide students with experience. More advanced techniques and special effects will be covered as well.

The course will introduce participants to studio lighting with an emphasis on portraiture and still life photography. Participants can use their film or digital cameras with B+W film. Demonstrations will cover techniques of studio lighting with diffusers and reflectors. Using a light meter and colour gels.

The course will introduce you to studio lighting with an emphasis on portraiture and still life photography. Participants can use their digital or film cameras with Colour or B+W film. We will cover the techniques of studio lighting, electronic flash with diffusers and reflectors as well as available light to help you get the most out of portraits.

24 Hour Colour And B&W Printing is now cancelled

12-6pm on 4 Saturdays from 3 March - $500
4 Saturdays of 6 hour duration for interruption free time to work on your photographic project. You will be introduced and supported to pursue colour and B&W printing in a creative environment. Technical instruction will be offered in specialised printing techniques. Ongoing feedback on participant's images will be given regarding composition, lighting, exposure of negatives and optimal camera handling suggestions.

This course is both an introductory course and a course for students who have completed Digital Photography One. The course aims to build camera skills, develop image composition, introduce Photoshop using a PC and develop print skills. The course aims at assisting students further develop their own style and interests in photography. The classes include four practical excursions where students are instructed in various aspects of photography including low light and night photography. The course has three major components: camera skills with digital SLR, composition plus using Photoshop as a digital darkroom.

This 7 week course is designed to take you through the controls of your camera so that you are the driver of the camera! The course will cover aspects of the SLR digital menu including aperture, shutter speed, manual, focusing points, white balance and light meters. The course is hands on and designed for people who own their own camera and will include one 3 hour excursion where the camera controls will be practiced. Students will be instructed on their own camera. The course cost will include printing four prints. By the end of the course you will understand the camera menu and be able to be more creative with your camera.

Do you have lots of images that you would to learn how to manipulate in Photoshop? This course will over 6 weeks take you through the fundamentals of using Photoshop as a digital darkroom. At the end of the course you will produce a small six digital print portfolio of photographic printed work from your own files. The class is restricted to 10 students. Students bring their own images to the course.
