Semester Two 2009 Program

Winter school of art.

General Information about these art classes
Venue The majority of courses are held at the School of Art, ANU.

Fees Course fees include materials where noted. In some cases additional materials are required and you will be provided with a list upon enrolment. All course fees in the Summer School of Art are GST inclusive.

Tutors Course tutors are practising artists with a wide range of experience in both teaching and exhibiting.

Parking Unfortunately, there is no longer any free parking available in the vicinity of the School of Art. There is very limited visitor parking at the front of the School of Music and pay and display parking off McCoy Circuit.

Children’s art workshop (8-12 years)

9am to 3pm Monday to Thursday, 11-14 January - $419 (includes a $30 materials fee)
Designed for children who enjoy the exciting world of drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking. You will be encouraged to experiment with these mediums while exploring your sense of self. As well as creating images of yourself, you will identify and depict objects, people and places which are important to you.

Mosaic frivolity

9.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 11-14January - $455
During this 4-day course you will learn to make a simple sculptural form out of wire and cement and decorate it with mosaic using tiles, shells, crockery or bits and pieces of your choice. NB be prepared to pay an additional $50 for materials on first day of course.

Summer colours
Noel Ford
9am-4pm Monday 18 to Friday 22 January - $584
We will start with small pencil drawings and tonal studies with wash during morning walks. We will then develop these (in studio) into highly developed paintings using colour. This course is an excellent introduction for those who wish to learn about the landscape, but is suitable for all levels of expertise. NB A full materials list will be provided upon enrolment.
