and consider what the artist is communicating. A series of drawings

Discover painting for yourself. Explore the world of colour, materials
and image making. Choose your own media: watercolour, acrylics or oils
and spend three wonderful days painting. Learn how to get started and
develop a theme in your work. Includes a day at the National Gallery.
NB Please bring any materials you already own, but refer to list provided
upon enrolment.

art workshop (8-12 years)

a $30 materials fee)
Designed for children who enjoy the process of art making. You will
be introduced to the four major areas of art practice: drawing, painting,
sculpture and printmaking., with an emphasis on self expression and
creativity. Demonstrations of techniques and exercises in each media
will be included. An interest in art is essential.

Mosaics
for everyone
Janet Meaney
9.30am-4.30pm Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 July - $454
You will be guided through the various processed needed to complete
at least one project from the planning stage to the cutting and placement
of tiles, glass or other materials, to make the most of your design,
finishing the piece by grouting and polishing. We will also cover ways
and means of displaying and/or exhibiting your work. NB A materials
fee of $50 is payable to Janet on the first day of the course.

Painting
the face and figure

This course enables you to explore what happens when an artist paints
a model. It will involve a short period of drawing each day to familiarise
yourself with the model/pose, and experience in drawing the figure would
be helpful. Suitable for oil and/or acrylic painters. Suggested list
of materials to bring available upon enrolment.

Performing
art for 8-12 years

Designed for children who enjoy creative storytelling and performing.
You will be introduced to basic acting techniques in a friendly and
encouraging atmosphere. Mime, comedy, improvisation, storytelling and
play-building will all be exploited to bring out the performer within.
An interest in acting is essential.
