Audit 2010 Program
Enrolments open Friday 27 November 2009

Listening in at the ANU

The Centre for Continuing Education offers access to approved ANU undergraduate courses for people who want to attend lectures in units without actually enrolling in a degree course. Auditors (listeners) do not generally require any special qualifications except for those units where prerequisites are necessary - this can be ascertained by consulting the current ANU undergraduate handbook.

Auditors may not sit formal examinations. Attendance at lectures will under no circumstances be accepted as credit towards a degree program. Auditors are encouraged to seek permission from the faculty to attend tutorials (subject to space being available); however, an Audit enrolment guarantees admission only to lectures.

A list of units being offered under the Audit Program is attached. If the unit you wish to audit appears on the list you can immediately enrol. If it does not appear you must seek permission, in writing, from the faculty. Enrolment in any unit for Auditing purposes is conditional upon space being available. LECTURE TIMES AND VENUES
Lecture timetables can be checked in the undergraduate handbook or from the ANU's web page. The Undergraduate Handbook can be read at reference desks of all major university and public libraries, or can be purchased at the Co-op Bookshop and retail bookshops. Lecture venues, and any changes in timetables, will be displayed on departmental noticeboards one week before lectures begin.

USE OF LIBRARIES
Students enrolled in the Audit Program are eligible for special borrowing rights with the campus libraries. These students should register at the Circulation Desk at the Chifley, Hancock or Menzies Library. They must present their CCE Student Card and pay $33. This library card expires 31 December each year regardless of the time of year registered. Credit card/EFTPOS facilities are available at all these buildings.

Other people are welcome to join the Library as ordinary External Borrowers. Fees for this service are $132 for one year, or $77 for six months.
The ANU library catalogue can be accessed by all borrowers in all main libraries. The ANU library catalogue can be accessed from off campus through the Library's web page at http://anulib.anu.edu.au

NB Access to other electronic resources such as WebCT requires you to have a student/staff no. and a PAC/PIN no. to login. Auditors are legally not enrolled “students” and the WebCT system is set up solely for access by those legally categorized as staff or enrolled students within the university.

ACCREDITATION
Some Audit students may be allowed to complete regular course assignments and exercises but will not be permitted to sit for formal examinations, nor will they be issued with official results. Units completed by audit students cannot be credited towards a degree. No certificates will be issued.

PARKING ON CAMPUS
Parking restrictions apply on the ANU Campus. Audit students will only have access to the limited voucher parking areas on campus. When parking please check the signs to ensure you do not incur a parking fine or visit the visitor parking web page.
