(02) 6125 4746 Sarah Prout is a Post-doctoral Fellow at CAEPR working as part of an inter-disciplinary research team on a 'Populations Project' funded by the Ministerial Council for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs (MCATSIA). The project examines a number of aspects of contemporary Indigenous demography, and the policy implications of demographic change.
Sarah's disciplinary background is in Human Geography and applied research. Her work to date has focussed on Aboriginal spatiality, and the delivery of basic social services to Indigenous populations. Her research interests include:
- The spatial, temporal, demographic, and socio-cultural characteristics of Indigenous mobility practices in Australia and other settler-states.
- The development of relevant, reliable and representative indicators of Indigenous well-being for reporting, monitoring and planning purposes.
- The geographies of urban-based Indigenous populations.
- The nexus between research, policy, and practice.
