| The Bachelor of Medical Science is designed for students who are interested
in how the human body works and for those who may plan graduate entry
into medicine, forensic science, physiotherapy or nutrition. Employment
may be found with regulatory authorities of the federal and local governments,
and in private industry e.g. pharmaceutical companies.
A unique feature of our Medical Sciences degree is the opportunity
for third year students to participate in the Medical Sciences Elective,
a unit which consists of 65 hours of work experience in a real medical
science environment. Students may work in organisations such as; Department
of Health and Aged Care, Ecowise, University research laboratories,
Australian Institute of Sport, Hospitals, Police Forensics, Therapeutic
Goods Administration, CSIRO, Office of Gene Technology Regulation or
Medical supply companies.
