| DOCTOR
OF PHILOSOPHY (BY RESEARCH) |
The three-four year program for this degree includes original
research followed by the submission of a detailed report in the
form of a thesis, which is examined externally. Candidates for
this degree usually hold the degree of Bachelor of Science with
Honours at the IIA grade or better, a Master of Biotechnology-Honours
at IIA grade or better, or a Graduate Diploma in Science at Pass
with Merit standard or better.

OF PHILOSOPHY (BY RESEARCH) |
This two year program involves original research followed by
the submission of a detailed report in the form of a thesis, which
is examined externally. Candidates for this degree are usually
Honours graduates at the IIA grade or better or those with a Graduate
Diploma in Science at Pass with Merit standard or better.

| GRADUATE
DIPLOMA OF SCIENCE (COURSE WORK &RESEARCH) |
The Graduate Diploma in Science is usually coordinated with
the Honours program and can be designed for individual students
with specific needs. This program provides graduates with the
equivalent of one year’s specialist training to introduce
students to modern experimental techniques and provide opportunities
for library research. The course usually involves 10 months of
full-time study.

| MASTER
OF BIOTECHNOLOGY (COURSE WORK) |
This 10 month program is designed for domestic or international
students who wish to update their skills in the biosciences or
gain a post-graduate qualification at an Australian University.
Study programs are individually designed to complement prior undergraduate
study and develop advanced knowledge and skills.

OF BIOTECHNOLOGY-HONOURS (COURSE WORK & RESEARCH) |
The Master of Biotechnology with Honours, allows students who
successfully complete the one year Master of Biotechnology (course
work), to undertake a second year of study in which they complete
a research project and submit a thesis which is examined externally.
Admission to the Honours year requires a distinction average or
better in the coursework program.
