Graduate student opportunities in BaMBi

Research Program (PhD)

BaMBi offers an excellent research environment and provides students with a high level of support as they work on their research project. Our graduate students are enrolled through the BaMBi Graduate Program and are currently working on a range of exciting research projects. Students can select from the following program options:

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (by research)

Course code: 9060XPHD

The PhD is a 3-4 year degree during which time the student will work on a major research project as a member of a research group within the University or in government institutions that have research divisions.

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) (by research)

Course code: 7600XMSCI

The MPhil is a 2 year degree that allows the student to work on a research project that contributes to the advancement of research in an established research laboratory on or off campus.

Graduate Diploma in Science

Course code 6600XGDSCI
Cricos code: 003114K

The Graduate Diploma of Science (Coursework and Research) specialising in Biochemistry

This one year program is similar in scope to a fourth year honours course but with greater flexibility. The program may include some coursework to prepare the student to undertake a research project, produce a thesis and present a seminar on their work. This course is particularly suited for individuals who wish to go on to higher study (MPhil or PhD) if they are not eligible to enter the undergraduate honours program. Applicants are likely to be individuals who hold a relevant undergraduate science degree from an Australian University who wish to return to full-time study after spending time working in a related field. On successful completion of this program, students who obtain a Pass with Merit or better, are eligible to apply for admission to either the PhD or MPhil programs.
