HIND2005 Hindi Bhaki Poetry Credit Points: 3 Lecturer: Dr Richard Barz Semester 2 Website Online Course Materials (HIND2005) Hindi Bhaki Peotry should be taken concurrently with Advanced Hindi Conversation B
Textbooks
Course materials will be selected from the works of pre-modern Hindi authors like Kabir, Mirabai, Guiu Nanak, Surdas and Tulsidas.
Syllabus:
- Reading of pre-modern Hindu devotional literature in Hindi and Hindi dialects
- Advanced discussion of Hindi grammatical usage and literary style
- Discussion in Hindi of the development of Hindu religious and philosophical concepts.
Assessment Requirements:
The assessment requirements are defined in the Couse Outline.
Contact Hours:
Two hours of lectures a week throughout the semester.
