Computing Requirements & Plugins


Before you Start, make sure you have everything you need!

Hindi Font There are two types of Hindi Devanagari pages on this site:

 The first type are pages that display the Devanagari script in gif format (like a picture). This will display on Macintosh, Windows and UNIX platforms.

The second are Unicode compliant pages which are theoretically viewable in any Unicode compliant application in a Unicode compliant operating system.  A Windows system later than Windows 2000 can be configured to display Devanagari Unicode text. The Indic Regional Settings must be activated.


Browser Plug-ins
Shockwave & Flash Players You will need the Macromedia Flash player to view some of the language exercises. Get the plugins by clicking on the link on the left.

Some exercises use Real Audio. Click on the image to download the free realplayer G2. Then follow the instructions to install it on your computer.
