Stream Ten

Workforce Travelling Fellowships

The Australian Primary Health Care Research Institute calls for participation in Stream Ten of its research program.

Stream Ten – Workforce Travelling Fellowships will provide the opportunity for eligible applicants, who were actively associated with a Stream Six project, to share lessons learned in Australia and to facilitate policy exchange and collaboration internationally.

Successful Applicants

  • Associate Professor Jill Thistlethwaite (University of Sydney) will visit the University of British Columbia and Northern Ontario School of Medicine for the project, "Enhancing primary care and general practice as a career choice".
  • Dr Jenny May (University of Newcastle) will visit the University of Manchester and University of Northern British Columbia for the project, "Skill mix translation - top down or bottom up? An international comparison".
  • Professors James Dunbar and Prasuna Reddy (Greater Green Triangle University Department of Rural Health) will visit the University of Washington, McClelland Institute for Innovation and Research, Harvard University, Dartmouth Medical School, the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation, Princeton; the Diabetes Research & Training center, Kaiser-Permanente and RAND Corp for the project, "Chronic disease management models as examples of organisational developmental approaches in primary care".
  • Dr Rhian Parker (University of Canberra) and Professors Helen Keleher and Karen Francis (Monash University) will visit Manchester University, The University of Southampton and the National Health Service in London for the collaborative project, "Preparing nurses for primary health care reforms".
  • Associate Professor David Perkins (University of New South Wales) will visit the University of Utrecht and University of Manchester and attend the Future of Primary Health Care in Europe Conference for the project, "Examining the implications of Stream 6 review in an international context: primary mental health service research, policy and delivery in the Netherlands and the UK".
  • Dr Victoria Palmer and Professor Jane Gunn (University of Melbourne) will visit the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation, Case Western Reserve University and the Robert Graham Center for the project, "Arranging Generalism in the 2020 Primary Care Team".
