WHAT IS ANIP?
The Australian National Internships
Program (ANIP) is a hands-on opportunity for
a student to go into a workplace and undertake a research project for
which you will get significant academic credit.
As part of the real world experience students have the opportunity to
work in an office environment, learn to prioritize tasks and deadlines
for completion of tasks and learn to express themselves concisely and
provide a succinct understanding/précis of a complex topic. An
internship is not just work experience, or unpaid help in an office.
The major focus is the completion of the Research Report.
Through ANIP, Australian
and overseas university students from any discipline can be placed with
the Australian Federal Parliament,
the Australian Public
Service, the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly
or Public Service, or with non-government
organisations (including lobby groups).
The Australian National Internships
Program is located on the campus of the Australian
National University (ANU) in Australia's national capital,
Canberra,
internationally recognised as an outstanding university.
Canberra
is the national capital,
located between the two major cities of Sydney
and Melbourne.
As the seat of the federal government it contains the head offices of
all federal Departments, the national Parliament and the headquarters
of most significant national associations and lobby groups.
Canberra is a "bush
capital", just two hours by car from the snowfields
two hours from Pacific beaches and three
hours from the bright lights of Sydney.
