Many alumni will have met or heard from Lea Sublett over the last few years.
Lea, the University's Associate Director for Alumni Relations, recently announced her departure from ANU to return to the Middle East in July.
"It has been a privilege to work with the University's 95,000 alumni over the last 4½ years, and it is with mixed emotions that I leave ANU. Many staff, students and alumni have become great friends over this time and supported development of new programs like the Young Alumni Council and Alumni Awards."
Lea will relocate to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to head alumni relations at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a position she looks forward to taking up. "I lived in the Middle East for five years, some years ago, working for the Australian Government. I'm looking forward to returning, this time to work for KAUST and to live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the port city of Jeddah on the Red Sea."
Alumni programs and events, and engagement with the University's student and graduate community, have expanded significantly in recent years. The ANU Alumni Awards Program, a global calendar of international and Australian events and volunteer opportunities in a range of areas has seen an enormous increase in alumni participation.
"The absolute highlight of my role has been meeting and working with so many interesting and passionate alumni in Australia and internationally. I thank you all for your enthusiasm and involvement and hope our paths cross again before too long."
