ANU alumni help ANU College of Law students obtain inaugural London scholarships

20 December 2016

We are proud to involve alumni in our learning environment and be able to offer this truly unique opportunity for students.

Two students from the ANU College of Law, Prashant Kelshiker and Sonali Fernando, have been awarded the inaugural scholarships to undertake an internship in a London legal firm or barrister chambers over the Australian summer. The scholarships are unique to ANU Law, made possible by vision of ANU law alumni working in London.

Prashant, born and bred in Canberra, is in his final year of Law and International Relations and will undertake his internship with Phillip Coppel QC (BA (Hons) '82, LLB (Hons) '84), a barrister at chambers in Gray's Inn. He is particularly excited to share his experience with his grandfather when he returns, who travelled to London to study law in the 1950s, eventually working as a barrister in Uganda.
