Mentoring

As a graduate of ANU, you form part of a life-long network of great minds who are enthusiastic about sharing their expertise, wisdom and advice.

Alumni Mentoring Program

The ANU Alumni Mentoring Program focuses on career development and work/life balance. As an alumni mentor you have a unique opportunity to support alumni by guiding them, through discussion on career goals, the availability of networks and workplace dynamics.

Taking part in the University's Alumni Mentor Program helps to strengthen the future of ANU and gives you the opportunity to contribute, by sharing your skills, wisdom, advice and knowledge with fellow alumni who can benefit from your generosity.

We currently have three Colleges offering mentoring programs: the ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE), the ANU College of Law (CoL) and the ANU College of Science (CoS).

ANU College of Business and Economics

The Momentum program is a not-for-credit mentoring and professional development program offered to current CBE undergraduate and postgraduate students. Industry mentors are invaluable in providing expert advice and guidance to support students in their development and in achieving career goals.

Mentor applications are open year-round and considered on a rolling basis. ANU alumni who have graduated from other colleges and have relevant experience in the field they intend to mentor are also encouraged to apply. You can apply to be a mentor, view the eligibility criteria, and read frequently asked questions on the Information for Mentors page. You can also contact the CBE MomentuM team directly at momentum.cbe@anu.edu.au.

ANU College of Law

The ANU College of Law Careers and Employability Team is launching a new and improved MomentuM program in 2023. We are currently seeking expressions of interest for mentors to participate in this rewarding program.

Mentors provide valuable support to current ANU law students in working towards their goals and support them to identify and succeed in their career goals. Becoming a mentor can enrich your life on a personal and professional level. Mentoring is about giving back and making a difference in your mentee's career and professional development. It is also an opportunity to shape our future leaders and to gain a 'fresh' perspective from the next generation.

Mentor applications for the 2023 program are currently open until Sunday 27 November 2022. ANU alumni who have graduated from other colleges and have relevant experience in the field they intend to mentor are also encouraged to apply. If you would like to register your interest in becoming a mentor, please fill out an application form by clicking here. Alternatively, you can contact the CoL Careers and Employability team at enquiries.law@anu.edu.au or on +61 2 6215 0882.

ANU College of Science

The Pathfinder program connects College of Science and College of Health and Medicine alumni as mentors with people who were in your position not too long ago. Mentors attend Pathfinder events to discuss the hurdles and triumphs they may have experienced along their career paths, share knowledge on industry and leadership and transitioning from students to alumni.

The College of Science is regularly seeking volunteer guides and panelists for Pathfinder, a breakfast with a panel presentation and networking advice session. If you are keen to get involved, please email them at science.alumni@anu.edu.au.
