Mr Michael Lonergan

As the Chief Financial Officer of the Australian National University (ANU), Michael Lonergan leads the Finance and Business Services division and the finance function for the University to deliver high quality strategic advisory and financial management services. These services ensure the long-term financial viability and performance of the University to deliver on its strategic goals and objectives. 

With over 28 years of executive leadership experience, Michael brings a wealth of expertise and insight to his role. Before joining ANU in April 2024, he served as Group Chief Financial Officer at RACQ, Queensland’s largest mutual, providing roadside assistance, general insurance, retail banking, travel and solar for over 1.7 million members.
