The Council of The Australian National University, in accordance with its overall responsibilities for the performance of the University, initiated an independent, external review of the quality of its performance.

The review looks at research and scholarship, research training, undergraduate teaching and learning, postgraduate teaching and learning, national and regional community service, and internationalisation.

The review is intended to inform the University and the Australian public about the standing of ANU in the international academic community and about the best ways of developing the potential of ANU for Australia’s longer term national interest.

The review focuses on the quality of the results achieved by ANU through its various outputs.
