Mrs Sarah Walker

Manager, Student Experience and Career Development

Division of Student Life

Sarah Walker has been a member of the higher education sector for 10 years. She started as a live-in residential advisor where she learned the value of building a community, clear communication and actively trying to break down barriers. She has carried this throughout her career as she changed countries and found her niche supporting students and staff.

Sarah has spent a number of years building and utilising her background and experience, first in the administrative side of university life, and now as the Manager of Student Experience and Career Development.

In her various roles at ANU she has worked on the Student Enrolment and Advice Project Team to plan and implement online enrolment for new undergraduate students; initiated social media for Student Central including drafting a social media policy and trialling communication staff to create and manage diverse communications; overseeing the 2017 Student Administration and Services Forum, expanding it with the inclusion of an external keynote speaker; and representing the University presenting at a number of conferences, most recently discussing self-management and leadership.

Sarah is interested in using her experience to make a difference at ANU and take a more active role in the overall development of the University.
