Lao Signs

The following are Lao Signs taken in Viengtiene in 1994.

Introduction to Lao Signs

LaoSigns is an electronic library of 38 Lao Language Signs collected as a resource to help students of Lao learn to read. Signs are graded into five (5) sets of approximate difficulty level. Signs within each set are grouped into rough topics with click on text or thumbnail images to take you to larger half-screen size images.

As the technology becomes available we hope to include phonetic and Lao transliterations of the signs, and eventually, sound.

Copyright for Lao Signs is owned by the National Thai Studies Centre and The Australian National University. Enquiries regarding use or reproduction of any part of Lao Signs off the network should be made to ntsc.enquiries@anu.edu.au.
