Professor James Fox, Resource Management in Asia Pacific Program, RSPAS, ANU, opened the Thailand Update 2007.	Mr Roland Rich, Executive Head, United Nations Democracy Fund, chaired the political year in review session.
Professor Chairat Charoensin-o-larn, Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, gave the political overview.	Dr Andrew Walker, Resource Management in Asia Pacific, RSPAS, ANU, spoke about the various threats to Thailand's democracy.
Participants at the 2007 Update.	Dr Joseph Liow, Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore, presented on reform and tradition in Islamic education in Southern Thailand.
Dr Greg Fealy, RSPAS, ANU, chaired the session on 'The Troubled South'.	Ms Suleemarn Wongsuphap, Anthropology & Politics, LaTrobe University, gave a talk on perception on violence from the Ponoh school.
Professor Bhanupong Nidhiprabha, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, provided the economic overview.	Mr Glen Robinson, ASEAN Focus Group, spoke on the impact of political uncertainty on business. Professor Peter Warr (on the right), Economics Division, RSPAS, chaired the third session on 'The Economy During Political Uncertainty'.
The keynote address was presented by Professor Suchit Bunbongkarn, Institute for Security and International Studies (Thailand), and Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, on the topic of 'Thailand's 2007 Constitution and Re-emerging Democracy.'	Update 2007 participants.
